Graphic design, web design and copywriting for small business by Little Bird Creative Design Studio

Bys Vyken Bridal

When Zoe, founder of Bys Vyken Bridal, contacted us about her new boutique in Bristol, we couldn’t wait to get started!

Zoe was amazing and curated a mood board for us to work from when designing her logo and website, ensuring we had lots of inspiration (we even used her own wedding photos to guide us!). The relaxed, boho vibe of Zoe’s wonderful boutique was carried over into her website, with hand-drawn floral line breaks to separate blocks of text, as well as a soft colour palette featuring pastel pinks, creams and greens.

Zoe was really switched on when it came to the importance of social media and regular updates to her site, so we were delighted when she asked us to write a bi-monthly blog for the website, to encourage traffic flow and boost her visibility. We’ve loved researching everything from wedding dress fabrics, to ways to recycle your bridal gown after you’ve said “I do” – and we were thrilled when Zoe told us that we’ve captured her voice so well, her friends were amazed to hear that she wasn’t doing the writing herself!

We offer hosting in addition to our web design services and this means we regularly check in with Zoe and run any updates as needed.

“I worked with Little Bird Creative to design and build my website and branding for my new bridal business. From our first conversation I knew I wanted to work with them as they just ‘got it’ when it came to the ethos and feel of what I wanted to create and seemed like they would be a pleasure to work with – which they absolutely were.

They understood things so well that my final logo was one of the first 3 ideas they pitched to me with zero tweaks, and I’ve had lots of compliments on it since. They were very patient during the website design process and it was very much a two way conversation throughout seamlessly combining my ideas with their expertise. I couldn’t recommend them enough.”

Chris Marksberry

Chris is a London-based singer-songwriter, who released his debut album in 2025. Little Bird Creative have been delighted to work with Chris, producing lyric videos for several of his songs.

Chris is fantastic to collaborate with and has happily shared stories that help us get to the heart of his lyrics, resulting in videos that clearly illustrate the songs, whilst ensuring the lyrics are easy to read.

We’ve taken the time to make Chris’s videos unique, with added use of graphic design and illustration, such as creating our own 50’s style wallpaper for the video to Crawling Out The Door and designing a train ticket for A Train Called Destiny.

We’ve also researched and found genuine copyright-free 50’s footage for use in several videos, as well as re-colouring and ageing some of Chris’s own video clips to fit the vintage style.

“I really love working with Emma and Little Bird Creative. We have worked on a number of music lyric videos together and I have been delighted with the results.

Creatively, we tend to look together at the lyrics and discuss a concept and Emma does the rest. The videos have all captured the story and feel of the song perfectly. On “Crawling Out The Door” we wanted to create the rock n roll vibe of Bill Haley and Comets circa 1950’s and Emma created this wonderful, lively video which was perfect for what we needed.”

The Bluecoat Singers

When we’re not working, we’re often found singing with More Harmony Women’s Barbershop Chorus, so when The Bluecoat Singers got in touch, we found we had lots in common and were perfectly placed to work with them on their new logo and website!

The group wanted a cleaner, more modern logo, which we were happy to provide. We then took some of the palette from their original website – blue, orange and yellow – and took it forward into their new one. The group had lots of information they wanted to get across to potential new singers and we worked on a personalised site structure to ensure everything they needed would be on the website, in an easy-to-find and simple-to-read format.

The Bluecoat Singers wanted to be able to update their website with regular blog entries and news updates, so we put together a handy “how-to” guide for them to simplify the process.

We were delighted when The Bluecoat Singers decided to switch their hosting to us when their old plan ran out, enabling us to continue working with them, providing security and running updates as needed.

“Recently, I led a small team of members in discussions about how to stabilise the Bluecoats’ membership, aim the group at a younger audience and appeal to a wider variety of communities for future concert performances.

Recognising the importance of creating a dynamic presence online, we acknowledged we lacked the skills to do this ourselves. We prepared a brief, outlining what we wanted to achieve, then cast around for companies that might be able to help. Armed with several competitive quotes, we opted for ‘Little Bird Creative’.

In a matter of weeks, Emma and Lesley gave us a new corporate image, revamped our website and provided us with the tools and ideas to launch a suite of promotional aids to take our new look to a wider, more engaged audience. Consequently, we’ve already seen an uptick in members and website ‘hits’ are up on last year. We’ve also transferred our site to Little Bird Creative’s hosting programme with a significant saving in cost and effort.

The empathy and support I’ve received from Little Bird Creative has been first class and I really feel I can contact them at any time with issues I have using the website software (my inadequacy not its!) and know that a solution will be offered quickly, willingly and competently.”

Graphic Design for Bodmin Keep by Little Bird Creative Design Studio

Splanna!

We love working with museums, so when the team at Bodmin Keep asked us to design a display and create a video showreel to celebrate the success of their “Splanna!” project, we jumped at the chance!

“Splanna!” was part of a wider Kernow G7 Cultural Programme, commissioned by Cornwall Council with support from Arts Council England and the National Lottery Fund.  The aim was to enable young people to access interactive learning experiences, whilst also exploring the collections available at local museums.

Since “Splanna!” means “shine,” we wanted the logo for Bodmin Keep’s project to burst from the walls, sending rays of sunshine out into the world.  We didn’t want to be too on-the-nose, so a comic-book style was chosen, rather than a literal sun-burst, with purple contrasting with the yellow to add some “pop.” This comic-book effect then fed naturally into the whole design of the display panels!

Since many of the activities on offer during “Splanna!” had a distinct “DIY” feel – from wood-carving to jewellery-making – we decided the focal point of the display should be a huge cork board, with “Polaroid” photographs (each one designed and cut out by hand) pinned randomly to it, reflecting the “hand-created” nature of the project.

We carried the colour palette and cork board theme into the showreel, presenting text information as notes pinned to a message board.  Comic-book style caption boxes also helped link the showreel to the physical display. We shot interviews with some of the young people involved in “Splanna!” as well as with Jo, The Keep’s Learning & Participation Manager, who spearheaded the project. We also interviewed some of the experts and teachers involved in the programme and filmed some fantastic close-up shots during a jewellery-making session held at the museum. Finally, we used photos given to us of other activities held during “Splanna!” to edit into the video.  The museum were thrilled with the results – and so were we!

Busy Bee Laundry Services

Supporting local businesses is really important to us at Little Bird Creative, so when Maddie from Busy Bee Laundry Services got in touch to request a logo and a web page, we were delighted to help.

The logo had to be simple enough to be printed onto the shirts worn by staff, but eye-catching enough to stand out. We chose two contrasting fonts and created a looping bee design flying back over the text, which really brought the logo to life. We were thrilled to see the logo gracing the Padstow FC kit, when Busy Bee began sponsoring the team!

For the Busy Bee Laundry Services web page, Maddie wanted something bright and bold, with pops of colour. As a single page site, we created a menu at the top, with anchors to take you directly to where you needed to be on the page, to ensure that navigation was easy.

To further customise the page and make it unique, we added the swirling bee from the logo as both occasional line breaks and as illustrative accents to photos used. We even created a bespoke map for Maddie, showing the areas of Cornwall covered by the laundry service, which was further illustrated by bees and created in Maddie’s bespoke colour palette of blue, golden yellow and orange.

“I highly recommend Little Bird Creative. Emma and Lesley have been amazing from start to finish.

I knew that a website and logo was high on my priorities when starting my business but I had no clue where to start. Little Bird Creative were so helpful, helping me to choose the most suitable option for my business whilst keeping within my budget. They prompted me with questions which got me thinking of things I hadn’t even considered, ensuring all the important areas of my business were featured on the website.

They created a bright, user friendly website, adding all those little touches that really make my business unique!
Nothing was too much trouble and they kept me updated throughout the process. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the whole process and they have been a pleasure to work with.

Both my logo and website are just perfect!”
